Default Bang for the buck heads?

Been going back and forth...First I thought of going the route of used 243's and having a local shop work them over a bit...but w/ the cost of porting labor I might as well get some new heads already done from a vendor....Really dont wanna spend more then a grandish lol, not because I wanna cut corners but im a 1st time home owner and the money could be spend on more important things right now then some two thousand dollar plus afr's...anyone have any good recommendations....cars a 3600 stalled auto/bolt ons...Cam being installed w/ the heads is a LG G5X2/ 114 lsa....thx in advance

Get either 243s or 799, send them to AI for a valve job, unmilled and voila.
Under a grand and will make a difference.

Here's their pricing for either basic rebuild (which is just the valve job), or the more expensive cnc portings.

Send them to us for CNC porting

$750 for CNC porting and valve job. Milling is free. You can go with our Stage 2 package that gets you 2.02"/1.57" stainless valves as well for an additional $250. If you'd like a new spring kit installed while we have them, we can handle that too! Average gains of about 30-35rwhp over the stock 243 castings.

Thanks for the reply but for what that would cost on top of what I already paid for the 241's I could get a set of new ported 243s

A new set of 243's fully CNC ported and valve jobbed, with stainless valves and a dual spring kit with titanium retainers usually sell for a good bit over $1600! Ours are $1525. You'll be in just $1200 for our service!

My suggestion to you would be to comb through the classified section on here. I picked up a like new set of AFR 205 heads that looked brand new for $1,500.00 shipped. You should be able to find a nice used set all day long at that price. You my friend will get the best of both worlds; Non-Budget world class heads as a budget head price. Looks like a win win to me

I agree, but if you can't afford to buy brand new, what's wrong with a nice set of used AFR or TFS heads?

Just thinking out loud here but if you've already bought a set of blow blended 241's then why did you start this thread. It probably have been better to have asked this BEFORE you spent your money.
