Default Bad cam eats lifter, need help choosing new cam!

I have a 2001 Corvette Z06 and recently had a bad aftermarket cam mess up a lifter. I don't know how the cam would be bad but that is what I was told (heat treat or something). So I'm installing new LS7 lifters and now I'm trying to decide on a new cam. I have full bolt ons, headers, catless x-pipe, Ti catback, vortex ram air intake and underdrive pulley.
I would like to make power close to the 420 mark which shouldn't be too difficult since I have the LS6 heads and intake manifold. As far as driveability, it's not my DD but I would still like it to be tolerable, I don't mind if it shakes at idle. I do like the sound of a mean idle with a nice lope.
My main concern is the powerband. I don't want to rev the car to 7000 rpm to get to the power.

I've been looking at cams from TSP because they seem to be within my budget. I really don't have any specific cam in mind so any suggestions would be great!

Btw, heads are stock LS6 and I don't want to flycut them or modify them.

Thanks for the help

Adham

Sounds like any cam around a .600 lift exhaust/intake and a 230-240 duration will work and as far as the LSA you want 112 or under and it will have a nice lope to it.

yeah that sounds about right, do you know which off the shelf cam might resemble that?

With your stock heads the TSP 228r 112 LSA would work nicely. Great power all throughout the powerband without having to rev it sky high. Great drivability, easy to tune, mean choppy sounding idle on the 112LSA.

Our V4 cam is in that range and makes great average power on a 346. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Chris, 817-750-2000

If you main concern is power band, you'll probably want a duration under 233*.

Thanks for the input!
I'm not too familiar with the cam sizes, duration and lift etc....can you tell me which number is what? For example, if there is a 232/234 .595"/.598" cam, which number identifies the duration, the lift, etc?

Thanks again

But that is one reason I chose a Cam Motion grind (they grind their cams in house), it was recommended to me by some LS geared vendors that Comp's QC had gone down the *******.

ok, I'm thinking of choosing one of the two cams:

TSP 233/239 .595"/.603"
or
TSP Torquer V2 232/234 .595"/.598"

both on a 112 LSA

I want to go a little bigger than a 228 because that's what the previous owner said is in the car right and I think I'd like a bit more.

I am running the 233/239 from TSP (112 lsa) in my Z06. It hits pretty hard at around 3300rpm. I like it !

How's the idle and driveability? How much power are you putting down?
