418 LQ9 What cam to run?
418 LQ9 What cam to run? Hey guys looking for some suggestions. I have a newly built LQ9 stroker 418CI and was wondering about a cam choice for this. I have the TPIS 90mm intake and throttle body, PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads with 2.10/1.60 valves, long tube headers and SLP exhaust, underdrive crank pulley. Any suggestions appreciated I have a Torquer V3 with 200 miles on it out of my 346 but dont know if this would be a good cam for this motor? If not would be willing to sell it.

This may be a little off topic but.......I never understood the "help with cam selection" posts. Agreed there maybe a COUPLE cam guru's on this board but it is truely hit or mis. IMHO...just call the pros..the ones that will make a spread sheet on your combo and give you options with moving the valve events around to compliment your specific combo.

U will not be happy with the v3 off the shelf in that motor and also id say ditch them heads as well on that motor a buddy of mine has 418 too n has custom cam on its way and is using stage 2.5 ls3 heads call charlie at futral motorsports bro thy will spec out what u need
