Default Heads to match TSP 228R?

I dont have a lot of knowledge when it comes to choosing a set of heads to mostly benefit the cam. Recently installed the TSP 228R 112LSA. What would be a good set of heads to go with to get the most benefit out of them? I am on a bit of a budget so please keep that in mind! Thanks for your input!

Interesting approach. Is this a LS1 motor? What exhaust and intake system will be used?

Try the 5.3L ported heads or some ported 243 castings. Even some stock 243 castings would be a good start.

You can get some stock 243's for a pretty good price, unless of course you can afford some ported heads.

just curious as to why its an interesting approach...

yes it's an LS1, and i currently have LT's, 3" ORY (no cats) and a flowmaster. I really want a FAST 92/92 or 90/90 however, i'm probably going to have to budget myself on that as well and stick with the LS6 for the time being.

the 243's is what i was thinking as well. Best bang for the buck. Hopefully i can find a set of ported 243's though!

Take a look at the PRC line of heads! We have ported 5.3l and ported LS6 heads for a pretty affordable price. Our Stg 1.0 LS6 heads would be a good choice for this type of setup.

I am running the 228R and the Stage1 PRC 243s. I just made 402hp and 380ft lbs. to the wheels with 90deg air temps.

243/799 stock heads for $400.do a valve seat leak test.you will need good springs and head swap kit, $250 more.look at the TSP heads and head swap kit if you can push your budget.
