Default ran on 7 cylinders. How bad?

I will probably get bashed for this one. So I popped the hood today to take a look at fluid levels and such when i noticed that one of the plug wires wasnt plugged in. It must have been pulled of when i had the car serviced and the mechanic forgot to put it back. I didnt notice it running rough but thats probably bc i have a substantial cam in it and its just about open y pipe. How bad is it that i had the car running like this? If it did come off when i had it serviced its probably been about a few hundred miles .

i would at least replace the plug on that cylinder. i am sure it is fouled or damn close if you drove it "a few hundred miles" with no ignition in that hole.

Welcome to LS1tech!

How slow is this F-body with a "substantial" cam and open Y-pipe?

I'll bet if you'd pulled that plug it would have looked nice and clean from all the fuel that went through it.

I'd do an oil & filter change because no doubt some fuel went past the rings into the crankcase.

Damage? I doubt it. Very long term or a stuck open injector can wash down the cylinder wall and cause excessive ring/cylinder wall wear.

You had this car serviced? When it comes to hot rodding, you should be doing the servicing yourself. It's part of "motorsports".

(Interesting how the website takes control of what's in upper case and what's not. Try to do some things all caps and it "fixes" it for you.)

I'd personally just change the oil, swap the plug and roll on. I've had a few beaters (cars that you don't put much in to) that would oil the plugs and foul them and run like crap. Swap plugs and it's fine. One of those cars has over 225,000 miles never being rebuilt (88 cavalier).

i had the same thing happen a few years back with my header install, forgot to plug in one of the plugs and drove it home. but i knew it was bad cause i had white smoke out the tail pipe from un-burn fuel hitting the exhaust. i plugged it in and it was fine
