My tick was RPM specific. If it was valve train related the noise should have been fairly constant throughout the power band. Plus there were other indicators such as low power output and one bank running pig rich. It still runs like a scalded dog though.

Okay Seriously Jpr5690 I Have Listened In Silence Long Enough. I Just Have To Inform You That It Is Both Improper Grammer And Highly Annoying To Capitalise Every Single Last Word That You Type. Only Use Capital Letters At The Beginnings Of Sentences Or Proper Nouns.

LOL.

LOL.
You spelled "grammar" and "capitalize" wrong.

Sorry Derty, just found it ironic that someone posting about another's grammar doesn't check to be sure that they spelled grammar correctly

The release lever to lay my backseat down squeeks so I had to put a peice of rubber between the pin and lever. It's really annoying and embarassing. Does anyone know a good lawyer?

im interested in seeing how this turns out.

after reading this it seems theres a spec tolerance this motors are designed with and most are within it if the noise goes away.

if it doesnt maybe its out of spec? just a theory.

Whoa, that's enough on the Grammar lessons. I thought we agreed on that already. Keep it technical and to the point. Take it private, e-mail or PM. It's of no value here. Next occurence will likely get the thread locked.

Ford is voiding warranties on Cobra's left and right for any mod they can when it seems they have a week pin design connecting the piston to the rod.

FWIW - whether the pistonslap really causes a problem with engine wear, it was a design issue that 1) was obviously a problem because they have redesigned the pistons to make it go away and 2) was probably originally a cost saving measure. Based on those 2 points, I believe that they should compensate any owners that have the problem. The free extended warranty that seems to be the norm would seem like reasonable compensation to me. If all the dealers would acknowledge the problem and handle it that way, there probably wouldn't be a need for the lawsuit.

i contacted the firm via email and they sent me a reply asking for any correspondance with the dealerships and any info about both of my cars. I know the SS wouldnt get **** covered because it has been modified to much, but the suburban has a CAI and thats it.

But how in the heck am I supposed to get any corresponance when the dealership just tells me "its normal" and hangs up?
