What is the AFR when indicating 102% ? Also Fuel Pressure?

When I was having drive ability issue's with my FIC's I installed the 28 lb injector's. I never did any WOT in third & fourth but first & second were no issue AFR wise. That is my 416 AFR 230's 243/247 combination.

I need to weld in a bung to use my wideband. I only have bungs in the headers for front o2s right now.

My old cam was on Comp XE lobes (.57x intake lift/ .56x exhaust lift). New one is EPS intake and LSL exhaust (.600/.615) so I'm sure that's helping.

Hard to say how much was the cam and how much was the ported/milled heads.

Awesome. How's your valvetrain noise with the EPS / LSL combination? Did you have much with your old setup?

Get your FT's dailed in close so it runs decently then go OL & put your WB in a NB bung.

With a Fast 90mm intake amplifying things I doubt there is such thing as a quiet lsx, but it does seem noticeably quieter than the old combo.

It helped I think that I put the foam back under the intake since it came with the new intake gaskets. No longer have that plunger noise from the valves opening and closing, just a slight sewing machine noise.

My pushrods are still 7.4 though, using old Vortec 350 lifters I got 1 3/4 turns from zero lash to 22ft/lbs.

Just drove the car 250 miles in one trip and it runs better than ever and I didn't put a pen to paper to check it but fuel mileage seems to have stayed the same. Not bad for an email base tune and picking up a bunch of power.

I kept them too, but the Cobalt SS seats I put in have the new style on them and I wanted to make it all match. Plus I like the subtle hint that it's not a "tree fiddy" or a "fo fiddy fo" under the hood.

In for some track times. I am also curious to see where this thing likes to be shifted. What ICL and LSA does this cam have?

It's a 113+2 LSA, so 111 ICL. Geoff said it would be great with my 6600RPM shift but will still be making power to 6800+ if I want to shift higher later.

I didn't realize the video sound quality was so bad, I will try to take a better one soon. Found out my brake booster is leaking vacuum so that explains some of the issues I've been having trying to get it to idle steady.

Yeah, it's not very good. It seems like sound clips done with the car in the garage are the ones that have a tendency to sound bad because all the engine compartment noises are amplified in the garage by all of the hard surfaces.
Try one with the car away from the garage, or a drive-by would be good.

I think the exhaust is leaking slightly on one side too, that would explain that strange note that it has.

The exhaust ending under the car kinda makes everything resonate and rumble so it sound different in person.

Even on my work speakers which are really nice the video sounds like crap though. I'll get some outside the car as soon as I can.

I remember one of your other threads asking about your dyno results. Was it decided that the cam or heads or both were the problem? Looking forward to your results.

Valve float was the problem. Old cam and lifters were pretty bad by the time I pulled them.

Since I expected the heads needed to come off, figured I might as well port and use the 799s I had in the corner.

What was the cause of the valve float? Incorrect install height? Glad you got it lined out. The 799's should be a nice addition too.

Now that I do not know. I measured them before removal at the correct 1.8 install height and they were PAC 1218 springs. The car showed signs of float on my old dyno graph when they were new, but they did have too many miles on them which is likely why it got bad enough to damage things.

Just ordered some 41# injectors from a supercharged Regal (got a set of 8 though) on ebay for a whopping $61 shipped.

Injectors should be in today. Have a birthday/halloween party tonight, but tomorrow I can install them and try to fix the tune for them.

I'm anxious to get a good WOT feel for this thing.

You can feel it start to wake up around 4k rpm even at part throttle. I think with the heads and intake letting her breathe it will have a ton of top end pull.

Injectors in and scaled, car fired right up and ran great.

Replaced my brake booster and for the first time since I've owned the Chevelle (10 years) the brakes are impressive. Turns out it had been faulty all along. It was replaced during the disc swap years ago and was brand new out of the box. It always had a very easy feeling for the first half of travel then got hard as the brakes started to really apply. Was my first car and I expected it to be different than my parents newer vehicles so I thought nothing of it.

Needless to say the car was previously dyno tuned for the old cam with the leak...which helps explain why "correcting" the a/f lost me 18rwhp and 25ft'lbs I would think. Also helps explain my abnormally high IDC of 94% cam only.

I installed my wide band o2 sensor yesterday and now that the leak is gone my WOT a/f is rich at 11.5 on the hit and increases to 10.9 by 6000rpm where I stopped the pull. I expect some more power will be found once it is leaned to the 12.6-12.8 range WOT.

It's been raining all day, but this week after work I am going to start working on it.

Will tune the best I can on the street and might make it to the track Sunday afternoon to finish there if I get close enough.

No interest in paying for another $400 dyno tune when I have the software, a wideband, plenty of good safe roads, and the dyno sheet doesn't mean anything to me. If I can't get things lined out I might see about paying for some dyno time.
