i've been reading the threads about eps cams

my current set up is callaway c4b ls1 5.7 kinsler 8 throttle intake 50mm
1 3/4 headers

i was looking at replaceing the cam and was thinking about the
eps 234/246 cam with matching springs/rod/retainers

any thoughts would be good

I dont personally have one but I am also leaning towards it. Ive only seen positive results from EPS, so I would go for it.

Can't go wrong with a EPS cam. Mine (for a mild cam) puts out amazing power all over the RPM range. If I could do it all over again I would go with a 234/240 cam...or something like it.

My 230/238 is treating me great so far. I need injectors so I haven't went WOT but with the 799 heads and the new cam, the car pulls much harder off idle than stock heads and my comp 230/224 did.

Valve train is also less noisy. I highly recommend you call Geoff at EPS and tell him your goals and setup and let him spec you a custom cam.

Geoff was really busy the week before last and last week when I was talking to him.

If you email he should call you pretty quick, same if you call and he doesn't answer right away. Very nice guy.

I just wanted to let you know that he can be quite busy. It took quite a bit longer than expected to get my cam but from the numbers I have seen them put down it is worth the wait. I may have caught him at a really busy time but just wanted to let you know that you may have to be patient...he is busy for a reason...he is very good at what he does/knows.

I was able to get my cam within a couple days of how quick I would have been able to get an off the shelf cam from somewhere else.

I'm sure other times he might not be able to order and get one ground so quick but I was impressed.

There have been some nice results from the EPS cams. I waited around 5 weeks for mine. They seems to be quieter (valve train noise) and make more power than most grinds. He is extremely busy because he is extremely knowledgeable.

That can makes great power, but be prepared to turn your motor hard. In a stock LS6 with a fast 102 that cam on a 111lsa was like hitting a light switch at 5000 rpms in my car. It pulled like a freight train from 5k-7k though. That camshaft if best suited if you plan to spray the car.

I agree, I notice this cam pulls very well at mostly high RPM as well.

If I would do it over, I would probably go a couple steps smaller so it wouldn't have to be wound up so high to make full use of its powerband.

Nice times for a Cam Only LQ4! (If it truly is a Cam-ONLY engine using the LQ4 317 heads and standard non-aftermarket intake).

What kind of 60 ft times, and what is race weight?
