1978 Caprice LQ9 Swap (Approx 4,000 lbs with me in it)

Cam Only LQ9
EPS Cam (234/246 @ .050, .602/.607 on a 111 LSA) (Link: http://www.engpwrsys.com/index.php?a...d&productId=10 )
LS6 Intake
ARP Rod Bolts
Headman Headers (Full Length with crappy lil 1.5" primary's)
TH400 Trans
Redneck Racing 4500 Stall
GM 10 Bolt

Converter seemed to slip on the Dyno, only 388rwhp/368rwtq, which seems low, but it was through a large stall converter, 15 psi drag radials and a TH400. The track ET and MPH put the car at well over 400 Rwhp as per the Wallace Racing Calculator. (Even though my car doesn't have a 1st gear when it made those times.)

(Link to Calculator: http://www.wallaceracing.com/hpcalculatorquarter.php )

First and Second trip to the track, 10 bolt gave up the ghost )blew rear end each time I went to the track), but ran a 12.0@111 with a lazy 1.6 60'.

Should be able to crack the 11's if I can the rear end to stay together.

2001 Z28, M6, 138k miles, stock clutch, mods in sig, Mustang Dyno.

Corrected numbers were 355hp, 391tq. Torque seems high, spike?

^^ What do you mean by "bucks slightly"?

Those are impressive numbers and I like the idea of it coming on strong by 2000 rpm.

I have an 01 with similar mods so far.

Fairly rough idle, has a little surge when cold, but otherwise drives just like a stock cam. Previous owner swapped cams, and so far in the 9 months I've owned it I've been VERY pleased. I could DD this car no problem, especially with a less aggressive clutch. I think it has alot to do with the tune, it idles at 900rpm dead on without any hunting.
Do you have the graph of this? Sounds like a nice setup

New set-up (needed to be smog friendly)

99 SS SLP

TSP 228R Cam & supporting mods
BBK Intake manifold
SLP Lid & bellow
KooKs LT & ORY
ASP Underdrive Pulley
Diamond stage 3 Clutch with light weight fly wheel
Tuned with HPTuners

Put down 401.73 Rwhp and 389.41Tq at 6400rpms. It drives just like stock and when we did the pulls my AFR was at 12.7-13.1 and we had 28 degrees total timing. Now that we have a good base to work off of we will start tinkering for that few extra ponies and mine is a DD as well 300+ miles a week.

1999 MTM Trans Am
TSP 228R (with pushrods and springs)
Kooks Headers
Kooks Off Road Y Pipe
Borla CatBack
SLP Lid
Tune (HP Tuners)
Stock LS1 heads, intake, injectors, bottom end, TB, etc.. Very street friendly had 0 issues. I drove the car to New York and back almost 5k miles round trip and got 27 mpg with 3.42 gears. Outran a stock 08 Shelby GT500 with this setup by 6-7 cars from a 20 roll to 140, thought I would add that. (video to prove)

399 rwhp 386 rwtq through a M6 with a LS7 clutch

Torquer v.3 231,234 644/598 111 LSA
stock 241 heads
ls6 intake
p&p tb
slp lid
LT's into 3" y into Corsa pro series y-pipe back
LS7 clutch
stock rear gear

Drivability is awesome in rain, dry, cold, or hot. Idles and drives perfect with the a/c on. Sounds great with the Corsa that was recently put on.

Video of the car in sig. Going to get a new video up soon that one is 2 1/2 yrs old. Many different things done now.

02 Z28 with 141K miles

230/236 .612/.604 111+4 (Pat G spec'd) + supporting mods

-M6 with SPEC stg. 2 clutch
-Stock heads
-LT's + ORY + Cutout
-Lid + K&N + descreened MAF (The latter two were good for 8 rwhp, dyno proven)
-P&P throttle body

400.81 rwhp / 374.07 tq

Pulls hard as hell after 4K and makes a steady 400whp from 6200-6500.

Made 340 rwhp without the cam, ORY (had high flow cats), and screened MAF.

My TrickFlow cam produced 81 hp over base with closed exhaust. It has very poor street manners. Torque and power curves bloom late in the rpm range (4000 rmp to 6700 rpm). The 4.56 gears help to compensate for low end torque somewhat. The MT Dr's when hot aids higher-rpm launches. The McCloud RST twin-disk clutch allows good control at launch.

I love the idle. The radical lope is awesomely wicked.

~390rwhp @ 6500rpm
Custom CompCams 216/226 .569/.571 116LSA
little over stock powerband from idle to 3500, pulls hard from 4000-6700.

02 Z28, K&N Filter, Ls6 intake, 241 heads, magnaflow cat., Dynomax 3" CatBack, out of the Box Diablosport tune (ltft dialed in).
