Never had any good results with the YT rockers, one of our customers who installed them lost 15rwhp on a similiar setup to yours, but there are others who do not gain or loose power with them, although it does make for a quieter valvetrain when setup right. I'm kinda undecided on if they are better than stock rockers though.

Thats weird that they cause some to lose power, when their advertised claiming that you'll gain power with them. Does it hurt your performance on the street or is it strictly on the dyno where it just kills #'s?

The number aren't low considering th emods left on the table. Don't forget about the SLP headers. There not good for the numbers either.

On one of my older combo's, a TR220 and Stage II 5.3 heads. I picked up 16rwhp with the only changes being a ported tb and an ASP pulley. Those two mods should be on anyones car that is looking for good dyno numbers. Those cats aren't helping matters either. Good dyno numbers can be found by paying attention to the details, belive me..

1) REMOVE YT rocker arms
2) your headers are fine
3) port t/b, get a pulley, loose the cats
you should see around 415-420

I have a similar set up with a 224/228 Comp cam, "cleaned up" TB, & pulley. The car made 408rwhp & 396rwtq with mild LS1 ported heads. I bolted on a pair of LS6 ported heads with 2.055/1.57 valves and it lost 5rwhp and 15rwtq on the same dyno and retuned. I think my set up would have benefited from a bigger cam and so would you with those heads...you'd "probably" see a big difference. The LS6 ported heads on a stock bottom end "seem" to respond to bigger cams IMO. I personally went the 383 route instead of another cam...probably dumb in retrospect but WTF.

I wouldn't sweat the dyno numbers..if the car runs great enjoy it and if you get a chance take it to the track. I bet after that you'll be very happy with your cars performance.

im new to the whole motor build up thing, but one thing i have picked up on (thanks to this board! you guys rock!) is mods tend to get more expodential(spelling?) the more you do. removing the cats on my stock z might give me 7-10 hp but on your modded beast could be as high as 10-20. ive read alot of posts with slp headers that were changed out and on average gained @ another 10-15hp. dont get down on your setup by comparing them to others unless you have the EXACT same setup. apples to apples. i think your well beyond the 400 mark you just need some minor bolt ons, different headers, and some quick change off road pipes and you'l have a nice perma grin! at least till the mod bug bites ya again! good luck

Before/after on the same dyno is the best comparision. If you gain 80-110RWHP (Depending on cam/head config) you are in the ballpark

Nineball is right, although I gained 24RWHP with ORY over high flow 3 inch cats

Yeah, those SLP's don't make power .
Cam only (stock heads) TSP 231/237 here, SLP LT's, and I'm at/around and perhaps even a little over 400rwhp now.

Yes, the 5.3's would have been better paired to the 224.
Did you make your purchase outright without asking for advice from the manuf/shop/tuner as to which head would pair up well to the 224? Inversely, did you ask which cam would pair up well with the PP ls6style heads?

I would be upset with not breaking 400 on a head/cam setup on an M6.

Basic Questions/Observations:
Is the cam in correctly? (is it off tooth?)
I see your exhaust is not restrictive.
High Flow cats shouldn't give up too much HP (15 at most, but you'll see 24 in the case mentioned above, so things vary)...
You have a good clutch.

Do all the remaining bolt ons, like a ported TB, UD pulley, slip on some off road Y-pipe inserts to dyno without cats. If, after doing all these things, you're still not satisfied with the results, I would pull those heads and have them Flow Benched by an independent shop. What CC chamber are they?

forget those number's look at the numbers on your timeslip. It does seem a bit low, but the timeslip is what matters, unless you didn't do the mods to make it faster, butyou did it for internet #s? Seriously, I could care less if my car only made 350, as long is it hit the numebr at the track!
FWIW, I tend to agree with everyone else though, for a opened up heads, that a small cam, DD or not.

Your absolutely right. This is why I'm not really mad right now, b/c I know if my car can still bust off good et. along with the mph. then I'll be happy. Unfortunately the tracks here in Ohio wont open for another 2 months.

Nine Ball nailed it earlier...

1. !Cats = 7-8 rwhp
2. Crank pulley = 8-10 rwhp
3. Ported Throttle body = 6-8 rwhp

I would do #2 and #3 for sure.

Keep the Y/T rockers I challenge anyone who says to remove them to be show results. They are high quality but non-adjustable rocker arms. The rule of thumb to buildin a combo is do all of the boltons before you start to CHANGE the combo.

Is that on a mustang dyno or no tuning? The car should make that w/o the heads.

I would think a TR224 would give more than that.. My TR220 cam made 380rwhp with all the basic bolt ons, stock heads, cats and shorty headers.. (M6, 3:73's)..

Put the stock heads back on and return the PP heads. I bet the hp and TQ numbers will be close.
