Default Anyone interested in this??

Im trying to find a way to help Todd(Discount Tire Direct) get his car up and running again. He has been a real asset to this board and its members and has recently come into some badluck. I have access to an 02 LS6 shortblock with low miles on it. My proposal would be for us to come together and help him out in this unfortunate situation. The owner of this motor wants 1500.00 for the shortblock. I have bargained him down to 1200.00 for this and Im willing to put up 200.00 of my own money if the members he would be willing to come forward with the rest. 1000.00 bucks between 20,000 members shouldnt be too hard of a thing to accomplish. A Paypal account will be setup for this and the motor will be shipped to Todd as soon as the goal is met. Im not trying to make a charity case here by any means, I just think he has come out of pocket quite a bit already and this is a chance for the board to come together. Lemme know your thoughts on this or PM me if you are interested in helping out.

BTW, I havent even mentioned this to Todd yet.. Just a random thought I had trying to help someone who has helped alot of us!!!

It might be easier to find a low mileage LS1 short block. $1200 is still a little pricey for a used shortblock. I wouldn't pay more than $1000, they are just cores afterall.

TTT guys.

Please PM me with the amount you would be willing to kick in. Once I get 1000.00 Ill throw in my 200 and ship the shortblock to Todd. I have already gotten about 6 PMs and I am compiling usernames with amounts offered.

Thanx for showing your support on this!!! I know modding has its risks and we could all say ***** Todd, but I think his situation is unfortunate to say the least....

Awww damn guys...this is too cool, but I truly cant accept. Just keep supporting me on this site as a sponsor is all I ask.

Its too late for my car. I have it 95% parted out (aftermarket stuff)...which pretty much will cover a new short block and some of the labor Ive endured. Once its done I will be trading it in on something slower. I'll miss her SS3657 wont ever be the same. I tend to get a new car every year...ive had this one for 2 years now so it was a good run.

I really do appreciate the effort. It was a bad situation but maybe it happened for some other reason.

Cammin....I will take that block that you know of though as I want to get it done soon. You trust this guy you are getting it from? When I saw your name on the post in the Sale section I knew I could trust it if it came from you. Just get me a pickup location and Ill call my shipping company. Can you crate it for them?

Tony, the price is 1k. Im chipping in 200 to bring it to that price. If a couple guys chip in 50-60 bucks the 1k will be met with ease..... 1k for an 02 LS6 shortblock with 20k on it isnt a bad deal in my eyes. I also have 02 LS1 heads here if Todd wants to go back to stock heads I am willing to throw in.

FWIW, this motor is not from GMMG

Sorry to see you selling the SS Todd, but maybe you could get a new GTO and show everyone how sweet they will look with some REAL wheels/tires on them.

Yea those plastic looking wheels look pretty cheesy. Almost as bad as the viper RT/10 wheels.

I'll chip in a few bucks if something happens and this goes through.. I'm broke but I'll just be blowing the money anyways, so it wouldn't hurt me to give a few bucks.

The only reason I have a paypal account was b/c I wanted a T-shirt and some stickers from this site. I have been wondering when I could use it again, I would throw something in there.
