My first technical thread
This is my first post on this forum... So Hi!
I've been hanging out at the CF for about a decade - but for serious engine mods, this is the more appropriate venue.
So I've finally decided to modify the engine in my 2000 Z51 C5 coupe w/MN6 tranny. In reading all the posts, and being in Kalifornia, I'm going to go with the 243 head upgrade, LS6 intake and a mid sized cam. 228/228 .581 114LSA. Probably from texas speed, but it looks like they're almost all the same (XE-R lobes) Since the heads are off - I also picked up the LS7 lifters and trays.
The base LS1 has 190,000 miles on the clock. Flawless performance for lots and lots of miles. oil pressure has dropped from 40 psi (on the wife's car) to 38 on mine. no bearing wear to speak of.
Bummer: I came over here because the parts selection is soooooo much better than the CF. Guess what - you can't post there till you have 50 tech posts.
