Default 5.3/T56 in my swap. What cam?

I am doing an aluminum LM4 5.3/T56 swap into my super light Nissan. RTR curb weight should be right around 2400lbs.

Now, where the issue comes in is that the car is a super sleeper, so it has to retain a decent idle. I intend to run a set of ported 5.3 truck heads as well as a set of mid length headers breathing through the quietest exhaust I can find.

I emailed comp cams with my setup and needs and never had a reply. Through some searching I found that a TSP 224 sounds like it might fit my build, does anybody have any other suggestions? I don't need low end torque so much as high end power. The car will be a summer toy/track car, not a DD.

LS6 cam is a popular choice in a 5.3. I don't recall the exact numbers, but, guys are making a good 300+ RWHP with this set up. Check dyno section for results. There are dyno sheets for many 5.3/cam choice set ups there.

The 224R would work great!

Although, we could probably spec you something a little more custom to perform better and meet your goals. If you are interested, please feel free to give us a call, we can get it narrowed down with a few more specifics.

With the weight you are going to be at a 224 cam seems a bit small. If you're looking for high end power an MS3/Victor jr is a proven setup on a 5.3.

Jake, I will do just that once I get further along down the line on my swap. There are a few things I'm waiting on that might be changed if they don't work out. Thanks for the advice so far guys!
