Really? My search showed that they are different. I guess I should also of specified this is a 00 LQ4. With the 0967 cam. Wanting to go to the 1721.

0967 191/190 .457/.466 lsa 114
1721 196/207 .467/.479 lsa 116

Heres the long story short. Motor blew up. Broke a rod nicked the cam. Have to get a new one (somehow no damage to the block etc anyways fixing the motor, i bought the truck with the bad motor) well i found a GREAT deal on a brand new LQ9 cam. I was going to go comp but they only recomended that i use a programmer or redo computer and im not sure i want to.. trying to save money.. And to me the bigger cam shouldnt be an all bad thing. Thanks.

yeah if you had the early LQ4 it did have a smaller cam. That was the 300hp LQ4. If you can't get that cam for $50 or less I wouldn't do it. I'd look for the '98 or '99 LS1 cam as they can be had really cheap and were bigger than the LQ9 cam...also I don't think those specs are right on the LQ9 cam.

just looked and there are conflicting numbers on the LQ9 cam. Some say 196/201 some say 196/207. Either way the '98-00 LS1 had a 202/210 .496/.496 which is what I would go with for a dirt cheap replacement.
