Default What is this?

I have never heard anyone mention this before. I bought the book How to turbo charge LS engines. It mentioned that I should put these two pins in if I am going to turbo my engine. Is this something that I should do or not worry about it? If I need to do this what is it that I actually need to purchase? I wouldn't even know what to call it or who to try and order it from.

Here is my goal and engine specs: If I don't need it, that's even better but don't want to have problems because I didn't use it.

5.3 arp rod bolts, patriot gold dual valve springs, XER 273 cam, 224/230 .581/.588 on a 114, LS9 head gaskets, stock heads, twin pt62/62's with a .58 AR, EFI on E85. Goal is to run between 15-19 psi and hope that will be enough to put me in the 5's for the 1/8th. Daily driver but all local. No long distance driving.

I think that is pinning the crank to keep the pulley from slipping. Seems like it would be more of an issue with a supercharged engine. Don't see why you need it for turbo.

In the book (I know people like to make fun of us who read...lol) it said for higher performance engines such as those with superchargers, turbo's. It also said you didn't need it for mild builds. Even though I think I will have a solid build I have to think that mine is barely considered "mild" in the scheme of things. I wasn't planning to do this but just wanted to make sure that I would regret it later.

Not needed for a turbo (exhaust driven!) only for belt-driven chargers...
