Default Assembly questions

I'm putting a ls1 shortblock together and have some questions.

I only have a manual for trucks 4.8/5.3/6.0... Can I use this manual to put my engine together or do I need to get a Camaro manual that's specific to ls1

Can I reuse the main bolts or no and what about the side Main bolts, are those reusable or no

Definitely get a ls1 specific servince maual, I would only get a GM one. There are alot of special procudures about removing the ls1 main caps, do not use a hammer to tap them off. The reason for the special removal is because the are aluminum not iron so the procudure is completly different. The GM service manual has that step along with alot of other ones that dont apply to the iron block ls engines.

you are fine reusing the main bolts as well as the side bolts...make sure you use sealant on side bolts.
