Default Need help identifying these oil pumps *LS noob*

I noticed a small difference in the identifying numbers. Which pump do you suggest that I use?

there is a date stamp on the left of the part number in the circle. the bottom one seams to be of a 00 build date, which means it was probably in a 2001 motor. the 01-02 pumps were revised and better.

just curious, why are you using a used pump? there is no way to verify miles on them.

It's a good thing you notified me of the build date. I was planning on reusing the pump to save some money if the pump was in good condition. I suspected that one of the two engines i had was rebuilt recently, but i guess it wasn't a full rebuild.

what pump do you recommend for a 400whp all motor build with maybe a small shot of direct port nitrous way further down the road?

btw while you are in there, throw an LS2 timing chain in there

Sounds good guys. I'll take your advice on that. Thanks for the help.

regarding the timing chain, I've been doing a lot of research on whether or not to go with double or a single chain. Why would i want to go with the ls2 single if for the same price i can go with the double?

I guess i should also note that the engine is currently going through a rebuild (which I'm doing myself), and every corner i can cut in buying parts means the engine will be ready to drop into my car that much sooner. Any help appreciated.
