Default Getting ready to do my first engine swap/build advise please.

So basicly what will I need. I have a assembled short block already. An lq4/9 this will be for a turbo and planing 1000rwhp on e85. I'm swapping all my ls1 stuff over. So what is re usable and what is not. Is there anything I should do while its out instead of doing it later on down the road. I'm going to put a new cam in while it's out because I can see that as being a pain to do when the engine is in the car. When I say what can be re used I mean bolts/gaskets. Or should I just get all new gaskets/bolts. Arp bolts of course. Sorry for the long post but its all a little overwhelming now. Thanks for advise in advance.

if you're really looking to make 1k whp on e85, you need to determine the fuel system and hope you have cash left over to build a motor. you will need a HUGE fuel system.

also, i would purchase new gaskets and arp bolts for such a build. you say you have an assembled sb, is it an lq4 or 9? rotating assembly? what turbo? you left out a lot of details.

Sorry... Im runing it na for now I just need to get the engine in because my ls1 has a rod knock. The block is an AES 390 which has diamond pistons, compstar rods, compstar crank arp main studs. I'm planing either a pt88 or gt91 or possibly a bw s91. But for now I really just wanted to know what all I need to get it in the car. Putting turbo on later when budget will allow and fuel system and all that good stuff. I just need to know what I can re use and what I need to get new **** for.

So far I know I need arp head studs and ls9 head gaskets. Because head bolts are torqued so much so they stretch bad.

Cometic gaskets is your best choice. They have all sorts of thicknesses and bore sizes, or you can get them custom made. Ive seen 30psi on these gaskets with NO ORING!!!

Thanks, Il look into them. But what about all the other gaskets such as rear main, timing cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets, all that stuff is it re usable?

Never hurts to replace them all, especially if its an older engine with lots of miles. Fel-pro makes a complete set. At least replace, rear main, and balancer seal, if your on a budget.

Sweet thanks man. Also should I spend the 350 dollars (close to that) on the arp accessory bolt kit? Or can I just re use my bolts.
