Do you have other boltons? Is your exhaust complete (longtubes, y pipe, catback)?

Just FYI, the 799 heads came on trucks too so a lot of people who don't know better will list them as "5.3 heads" or the like. Find someone selling some as such and you will get a deal. I found a pair in the classifieds here for ~$250 shipped if I remember correctly (1 head had a few rough spots from some piston damage).

If you have the time and resources, just going over the really bad rough spots with some sandpaper rolls on a grinder or Dremel might help you out some, I've seen some stock castings that had a LOT of flash and trash in the metal. My ls1 heads were straight up awful.

look on craigslist,there are so many people that dont know what they have on there, my buddy got his 243s for 125 bucks lol, op good cam choice,

it is a very good idea to change the pump and upgrade the chain i stress that you do! you also will need some gaskets ,bolts etc

My exhaust is LT's with ory that is over the axle and then dumped. I found some 243's on the parts classifieds for $375. I will check craigslist next.
