Finally picked my setup!!

My Camaro will now be seeing its first cam upgrade soon. Thanks to Allan at Futral Motorsports i have decided to go with the F13 cam kit. Along with this i will be installing a Circle D 4C stall, LS6 intake, roller rockers, lifters and shaving my 241 heads a bit. Does this setup sound pretty good or what??? And is there any other budget friendly upgrades that i can do to gain a little more power or reliability?

Is it necessary to add an LS6 oil pump?? upgraded timing chain????

What are the specs on the cam? I'd spend a little more and buy some 243 heads. They show nice gains for the money.

The F13 is a 230/232 with .595/.585

Great cam. If your going to the trouble of removing the heads, I would upgrade to 243s as mentioned.

I was already going to have my 241's ported and shaved. I have considered switching to 243's.

Port the 243s and you'll have a pretty good setup. Heads and cam are nasty together.

Also what year is the car? I assume you have an 01-02 in which case you already have an LS6 intake...

I'd pay around 400 bucks for a good pair of 243 LS6 heads with springs, and low miles (>50k miles). That just me though. Watch out, 799 heads are the same as 243, and there are 243s for the LS2 too. So when you ask for information MAKE SURE TO ASK IF THEY ARE LS6 OR LS2!

Its actually a 94 conversion. I am in the process of purchasing an LS6 intake. What is the difference between the LS2 and LS6 243's?

LS2s don't work on our LS1s. Simple as that. Just buy some 243s from an LS6. If you get the chance, buy some 243s from a LS6 from a Z06. They have sodium filled valves. And you can say you have Z06 heads.

Wrong, ls2 243's do work on ls1's. They don't have the hollow/sodium filled valves however.

243s are the casting number...they are all the same, the only difference is what valves are loaded into them

799s are the same except a different casting process which isn't as smoothe, but there will be no noticeable power loss to 243s

799s are sand casted or something like that, which makes them rougher
243s are die casted, so they are smoother, as said above^

Well now i'm searching the market for an LS6 intake and 243's. Haha. Is it a must to change the timing chain and oil pump when doing a cam swap? I have read where some people do.
