Default out on a limb here

im going out on a limb here:

is/ would it be possible to make a 500whp on a stock bottom end LS1 N/A?

I have 241 heads that have had some decent port work done,5 angle valve job with 2.02/1.60 valves, comp cam (cant remember the specs, but its pretty big iirc) ported intake and all the bolt ons, and it made 475 to the wheels. Can i pick up 25 hp by balance and blue printing the Rotating Assy. and doing some more port work?

Probably not. Atleast on the shortblock side of it. You could raise the compression a tad (assuming you arent pushing the limits as it is) and the porting it depends. It could help you or hurt you. Who is going to do it? Have they ever done it? Etc. To pick up 25hp will me somewhat hard but not undoable.

lighten the rotating assembly up, lighten the valvetrain up, bump the comp a little if possible. maybe degree the cam to raise the powerband, if the portwork is good you might pickup up top a little. tahts off the top of my head. sure theres more you can do....it all adds up

I'll believe the 475hp with ported 241's when I see some track times. Sounds like a few more tweaks on that dyno and you'd be there without any mods.

the car ran a (so far) best 12.07 @ 117mph with street tires and a stock trans.
the trans now is built with a 4400 stall, 3.73 gears

the heads have been milled .10 so i think my comp. is somewhere around 10.75:1

would it benifit to put some RR rockers? something like Harland Sharp OR?

Thanks Guys..

sound's like the dyno was turned to the happy customer setting, and not the cold hard facts setting.

Are you sure they can even keep it under 500hp?

I trap 117mph with 400whp. You're not making 475whp to the wheels, unless that thing weighs 4500lbs. Keep the stock rockers.

idk...track prep was ****, thats the only thing i can think of.

i might not have been clear in my previous post:

the 12.07 was when the car was pretty much stock. It had 3.73 gears, exhaust (no headers), lid, and a 100 shot. and with that combo it put down 415ish on a mustang dyno..

anyway, my intention with this tread wasnt to prove what my car has now, but to see if the magic 500RWHP is acheavible with a stock cube/stroke LS1.

djfury05, you have a very beautiful car.

It's just really hard to tell you how to improve upon your horsepower number when none of us here know how you got there in the first place. You shouldn't be making that kind of power already...
