Default TFS 235 with K800 springs

I'm about to install KMotion's K-800 springs on TFS 235 cylinder heads. I have to cut valve spring pockets 0.100'' deeper with 1.500'' diameter tool to get 1.850'' installed height with 0.060 thick ID spring locator. Anybody knows if there is a water jacket behind or something that I have to be aware of?

Is it save? Pocket is now 1.480'' diameter and installed height without any locator or shim is 1.810''

Thanks for your help

You may be best to contact the manufacturer of the castings. I'd bet you
can increase the diameter but not cut the depth....especially .100". Perhaps
someone makes +.050 locks or look for longer valves...Manley,Ferrea, REV,etc

Checked with TrickFlow and they told me to not go deeper than stock for spring pocket. I will find offset locks or retainers to get proper 1.850 installed height with ID locator.

Anybody know if I can run Morel hyd link bar lifters with 189# seat pressure and 495# open pressure? These are the pressure if I install K800 at 1.800 with 0.650 valve lift.

Thanks

If they are Morel # 5206 then yes I would not hesitate. I would check coil bind on them, if they are close to what they are suppose to be on paper you will be closer to coil bind than most would prefer @ 1.800 especially if you have the standard heavy valves the TFS heads come with.
