Any Help to ID 2 Engines.
Hello all. Chuck here out of Va. Can anyone provide any help in identifying these two engines. If they are 5.3s, I want to build them. I picked
em up in a big parts lot very cheaply, locally from a retired/closed Chevy dealer. The GM stickers on the crate for the engines put in the trucks were for 2000 LM7s but thats not to say these oems now in the crates were LM7s. Can anyone tell by the numbers. Rear engine suffix pads are stamped CYE108410 and CYE126832. Heads, outboard, lower, and centered are stamped 7 07 19 03 F 25 9 and 1 12 1 08 02 F 97 9. Heads are 862s. Block casting numbers appear to be 12551358. They have barcode paper stickers on rear of heads FHB *10FHB W991765078 315. Any input is really appreciated.

5.3's and 4.8's both use the same block and are stamped 4.8/5.3L on the rear of the block under where the flywheel/flexplate is or would be ,,,,,and to tell the difference remove a spark plug and look in with a bright light the 4.8L have flat tops and the 5.3L have dished pistons unless You have a HO aluminum 5.3L which also has flat tops .
