Default Destroked 6.0

Just wondering if anyone has thought about or built one of these...

Would be cheap to build and would work well in a real light car. Opinions?

You would be able to rev higher, harmonics of the engine would be better, and that means the engine has the ability to live longer vs a stroker in the same usage.

But I dont think it would be better than the stock/stroker rebuilds available. I think it would be cool to do. Destroke it, but extremely capable valve train in it so it could twist to 9k+ and then put 1 huge or 2 big turbos on it.

Theres no point when you can build a 4.8. Those have been proven to take over 1000 stock

That's not the point here. I'm saying it's a stock headed (with port work) LS with <350 ci making that kind of power. I know you can build one with a snail shell to make over 600whp on pump gas, but all motor putting that kinda numbers down with such small displacement is impressive imo

Again you could forge a 5.3 and achieve similar results. 540 at the crank is around 450 to 460 at the wheels. Id say that's reasonable for a cam designed for a single plane and good heads. You are only down 19 ci over an LS1 so the numbers are on par

Seems you could make the same power cheaper with some take-out LS2 pistons, used 243/799 heads and a well designed cam. The motor in the video peaked at 6,400 anyway.

Taking away displacement to make more power is not the cheapest route, and only makes sense if you are class-limited to a certain ci. Budget 6.0 FTW.
