Default I used a green roloc disc on my block, wtf.

Midway through my head swap, the gasket cleaning was taking a while. My buddy comes over with a green roloc rubber bristle that we attached to a air compressor. Now I'm scared my block is f'd up. I normally read everything for myself. I know there are at least some grooves in the block. Anyway to save this?

Like a green bristle disc. If so then you be fine and are made for removing gaskets off of aluminum. But if it was a grinding disc lol.

^^^ that's the one I used. And it's plastic not rubber. Just make sure u use compressed air to blow any debree out. Especially out the head bolt holes, u don't want anything in there when u tighten and then crack the block.

green roloc disks are made for steel or very aggressive cleaning of aluminum....i used yellow roloc for my head swap and then finished the surface with the white fine roloc disc. I imagine as long as you were not super agressive you should be fine. use a straight edge and make sure. good luck.

From what the bodyshop supplies guy told me (very knowledgable)....

green=60-80 grit yellow=120-180 grit white=220-320 grit

Thats what I used. I do have a nick near one of the piston holes. It also seems to have sanded the rings flush with the block in some areas.
