I've got stock rockers on mine with a Torquer v2 cam. No problems here...and know lots of others using them with cam upgrades and high miles. They seem to be a pretty good peice if you get the geometry correct which is very simple.

No need for anyone to mention the trunion upgrade cause I know of it. Just wanted to know of the people who were running came without the upgrade. I always here about the needle bearings failing but I was wondering dos it actually happen that often?

I can't answer the last question but I can tell You this ,,,,,,,,,,,I've read maybe 2 threads or possibly 3 threads on here of stock rocker failure of some sort and that's in the 2 years and 2 or 3 months I've been a member ,,,,,,,,not bad track record at all ,,,,,,,,,,but I had a thought and went with it which was to spot weld the needle bearing caps to the body of the GM rockers ,,,,,so I covered the open shaft area so splatter would'nt contaminate the bearings and although My motor is'nt quite together and running yet I'm confident that it will eliminate the possibility of a cap popping out ,,,,or a race rather .

Well acyually I welded them the same which is as little as possible to hold ,,,,,,,,,,not gonna be anything but a work El Camino but should they exibit undesirable harmonics I do have a complete set of untouched rockers ,,,,,,so ,,,,I guess we'll have to let the engine be the

Yea i wouldnt think that weld would do anything other than hurt the balance of the rocker, moving parts like the rocker (especially valvetrain) moves so many times a second that even though its a little bit of added weight, will exponentialy be undesirable for balance, not too much harmonics involved with rockers, thats more of a rotating assembly issue...

no harmonics in the rocker arm? take a look at this valve spring, where do you think thoes reverberations are coming from?

when i say not much harmonics i mean less than a rotating assembly...the harmonics involved with that video you show is only a single degree of freedom system, where as a rotating assembly has many degrees of freedom, making the harmonics much more complex...a simple spring system is the lowest order dyanmic system that can be modeled, and is whats taught to freshman engineering students...
i guess i will have to be more clear...
