Default Good cam for stock 243 heads...

After a bad 918 valve spring took out 1 of my ported 241 heads and a piston, I'm rebuilding the top end of my motor (and replacing just the one damaged piston).
I was making 398whp with ported 241s, a cam of unknown origins (likely a mild 22x/22x) that came with the car when I bought it (previous owner didn't know specs), an LS6 intake and ported stock t-body.

I want to make close to 450whp with as-cast LS6 heads, and the same manifold/t-body... ideally I'd like to swap to a FAST 9x/9x and bigger flowing set of heads later and make close to 500whp. But right now the budget is going to allow only LS6 stock heads, dual springs, and a new cam.

What cam is going to put me in the range (or close) I want to be in?
I was thinking maybe an MS3 or Tsunami cam, what else?

Thanks

If you wanna make a streetable 450+ hp you need better heads than as cast ls6...unless u get a huge cam with no bottom end, but will run down plenty of mustangs at the trAck...I def would get a fast intake tb combo too to achieve that goal

Give one of the guys over at Texas speed a ring, I'm sure they could point you in the right direction since you are considering them anyways.

im guessing you are going to get the ls6 heads fully worked?? If not dont expect 450hp. I would say on a stcok ls6 head and either cam it will be around 420-430
