Default Torquer V2 or V3

I was set on one of these cams but after reading the link below I am worried it may be too much cam. I want something that isnt going to lose power down low. I plan on running the stock heads because I dont want to spend alot of money. My goal is to break into the high 11's after a tune

the torquer 2 has a little more low end.consider a 228r cam pkg from TSP with a 112 or 110LSA.

On stock heads go with the V2. If you ever plan on changing heads V3. I run the V3 but with LS6 heads....with the proper tune the V3 is very daily driveable.

I was thinking of keeping the heads stock because I dont want to replace the clutch and 10-bolt. If I just get the TV2 cam I can get away with keeping them stock.

It gets expensive because its about $800 for the cam/springs, probably $500 for labor and another $500 for a tune. Not sure if I want to put more than that into an older car ya know?

Yeah, you'll definately need a new clutch. Mine started slipping immediately after my H/C swap. I didn't even think about changing it for whatever reason, but that was another $1000 I wasn't expecting.

I actually read on here the V3 has better low end. I am leaning towards the V2 still. Seems like less maintence.

The TV3 is supposed to be alot better overall cam than the T2. But i also have been considering a cam the size of the T2. Only reason i dont like the T3 is that huge lift..

The Tv3 is has better low end than the tv2 and has same mid n top or better. Its been explained by TSP many times on this board FYI. About the size, they're identical or so. Higher lift doesn't mean bigger cam at all, you just need better and more expensive valvesprings. Get the tv3 unless you want to save on valvesprings. No it doesn't need more maintenance, It's not even really true for mechanic roller setup.
My 700$ stage 3 monster clutch will hold any clutch dump, even on the juice N/A you will be fine

I put a V3 in my 6.0 with TSP 215 cnc ported heads. On the dyno it shows that it comes on around 2500 and pulls hard across the RPM range. I actually feel it by 3000rpm, and runs good.
I would suggest the V3 but not sure if your heads can flow that?

There's no sense in getting the V3 with stock heads.

I was orginally going to do TV2 cam with LS6 heads but I dont think the stock clutch/10 bolt would like that

The cam I have in my car is spec'd very similar to the V2 and I really like it. I don't daily drive my car, but the cam and 4.10's make it very fun to drive.

why are you dead set on these two cams?

i have seen a stock head LS1 make 400rwhp with the Torquer V2 plenty of time with the right supporting mods and good tune. but i would consider a more modern lobe cam such as the LSL lobed LSR cams. they are softer on the seat which saves your valves, springs and brings the valvetrain noise level down

any modern lobe cam in the high 220's low 230's these days will get you that. i love my cam and it is a 227/235. i have great low end power and outstanding top end with a advertised operating range from 1900-6600. i can drive this thing all day and feels like more power all over. the cam pulls hard to around 6500 with a shift point of around 6600-6700.
