One reason is I weigh 300lbs,I'm a big guy.
My car is fairly gutted,I do have the air bags still there and the radio, impact door bars and door panels and what not but I have a kmember and arms, lightweight exhaust,lw carpet, one seat etc but the problem is my car with ME in it is still over 3500lbs.

Thats the problem,I cant compete with these 3350 or less cars.
Its just not gonna happen so I need to see what others weigh to compare my car and see how close we really are in terms of power.

Again,I've learned a whole lot on here,I dont think u need LS6 heads,I dont think u need a cam more than 230-590 lift and I dont think u need killer air to run 10's.The COMBO needs to be tweeked and played with along with some hook and u will be rewarded with a 10-Sec pass.

Lynda your car is impressive and I take my hat off to ya.
IMO u might have one of the most impressive cars on the board..

As much as I say the PI's are as good,I might go back to a Yank TP4400 although I have seen some Yanks lose ALOT too, clutches go in them...
But its still a bad *** verter.

I might try a TCI steet stator 4400.
They are good guys and are doing alot of R&D....

I really believe my PI is the one thing holding me back (lost 31RW locked/unlocked) from a 10 Sec pass and come 2 or 3 weeks I am gonna test 2 different verters to find out once and for all.

Dyno smyno,Set the car up properly and it'll run 10's....
FWIW lynda's car will go over 430RW locked, that u can be sure of boys...
awe shucks, thanks for the comments, it really means a lot.

If you lived close I wouldnt mind making a few passes in it for you, to get the raceweight down

hahahaha...you drive a 10 second car...

the tranny wont last forever anyway...

at least dyno locked to see the added benefit it might give you with one...if you dyno 440 locked maybe he will understand you dont wanna waste that added 30 horsepower going down the track in 3rd gear...

You quoted me twice, so I applogize if I gave any negative impression. That was not my intention. I would not mind a higher weight break (it was 3400 last year I think) but 3600# is too high (even I would have to add weight) and outlawing ballast is ridiculous. I have a 2000 Z28 stripper, but mine weighs a lot more than yours. Your wheels and tires are about a wash with the roll bar, so that leaves me with the same mods as you but still seats yet my empty car is more than your race weight. Having done everything I can and keep the car my daily driver, I am putting on a K member to try to get down to the min. I wish I didn't have to do that. So all I was saying was that I wish I didn't have to make as many changes to my car as I have to reach the 3350# min, which, by coincidence is your race weight. No bashing or trashing, just wistful thinking

I've seen Lynda's car and James and Sheila's car. They are both complete cars not stripper cars. If anyone questions what they are doing, you are barking up the wrong tree.

As for the weight thing, I don't think we should be making classes 3600 lbs, thats just gay. If you want a car that heavy, go buy an Impala SS. There are plenty of no options cars that are light. If you want to look at stripper car weight look at Raughammer, or some of the other guys in the 3000-3100 range.

Heck, I have to add 200-250 lbs to run in an Ls1tech racing class now, why would I want to add 600lbs to race, and most other F-Body folks like Lynda and James and Sheila would have to add 200lbs.

Like I said, if anyone is question their cars you are barking up the wrong tree...

3600 race weight is crazy.

My car weights in at 3260 and I am 210 pounds.

I still drive my car on the street on a daily basic. But it was my choice to get the car down to that weight. I did not strip the hell out of it to do it. I still have both airbags rear bumper support carpet. My ABS and traction control is still in the car.
However I did remove the A/C I never used it and it was always in the way when working on the car.

Yes I do have drag brakes and K-Frame and A-Arms. But they are good mods for removing weight and they are fine by my means for street driving. I have a race seat in my car because it's much safer then the factory seat. (harness fits much better)

I have gone a best of 10.71 in my car and someone who is almost a 100 pounds lighter then me has gone 10.69 on the same day maybe 20 minutes apart. So if I was the add all my seats and run the car would still be an easy 10 second car and look like I just drove it off the showroom floor. Well maybe not I have a 5 point rollbar in the car. But you get the idea.

The race weight for the series is 3350 and thats what I set my car up for. So for all you babies who want to race at 3600 + go race with the inports with there big *** systems and stickers and you might have a chance winning a race

Sorry to say but alot of the HP or lack there of before hand comes from your previous tuner. Ive had too many cars that Ive taken their Edit cable and picked up another 10-20rwhp and still remain the same driveability. Its amazing what you sniff through the ole buttometer and wonder why his tunes are so drivable but yet lack the HP to trap higher MPHs. Im glad you have had it tweaked since him and Im happy for you and your cars new numbers. Congrats Girl. You guys deserve it!

Pete that was a great post..
I built my car for racing too,But I love to eat
I just need to push away from the table and continue dropping weight
I'd be happy to lose another 50lbs by the summer.

I still wanna do the ABS delete since it constantly throws codes with my boots.
I also wanna try and get another 50lbs out of the car somehow w/o doing brakes.

If those 2 things happen I'll make it down to about 3400lbs.
Thats my goal 430RW at 3400lbs and I should be in the promise land

Now its time for a nice salad (wishing it was a pizza)

We can get wacky about 3350, but Trevor's car was like 3430 on the same scale, I was running it, and he went 10.94 so ummm... It is doable.

I do not consider 3350-3450 gutted.

Other racing organizations let cars run at 3250 and lighter, we are trying to strike a balance between those events and our vents.

Nice job Linda, I think that you might want to look at your 3rd gear tune, maybe you might a tad lean and you might pick up some mph.
