Default COMP 926 install height, help please??

Hi Guys,

I am installing COMP 926 dual valve springs on my newly reworked DART heads.
On the box it says 1.835 129lbs pressure, but this is not the install height right?

Just for the record i measured the springs at 148-152lbs @ 1.835.
I spoke to a trusted guy, and he says to install at 1.780 on the Inlet, and 1.760 on the exhaust, this is because of my cam, i have lower lift on my exhaust lobe.
.596 ex/.624 in.
What sort of load can the hydraulic lifters take, i have LS7 lifters in mine that have done around 20k miles.
I have to get the parts shipped from you guys in the States, so would like to get this right, also the DARTS have an odd valve guide size, anyone know where i might get the shims?
Otherwise i will have to machine out standard size ones.

Do you know the coilbind height? You will need to take that, add your lift and then add about .060" for clearance and that should give you your minimum installed height.

For example, my valve springs would go into coilbind at 1.080" and I am using a .590" lift cam. 1.080" + .590" + .060" = 1.730" installed height.

sorry to hijack a thread but in having the same problem on my pac .650 and cant figure out my installed height it says the installed height is 1.8 in coming up with about 1.72 or so coil bind is 1.090+.598+.060= 1.748 so is 1.748 the installed height i need?

Thanks Paul.
Don't trust that. Bind them on a pressure tester and check what it really is.
