Default Cam replacement?

Right now I have a torquer 2 cam in my camaro ss, it was fun for a while, but I don't really have any reason to go fast anymore.

I was wondering what all would be involved to put a stock or ls6 cam into the engine? Would I have to go from hardeened to stock pushrods, timing chain, valvesprings, etc?

I just want something a bit more tame and fuel efficient, maybe I should just sell the car? lol

Any help is appreciated.

get a custom cam, your probably sick of that cam that you can only enjoy on the freeway..

you can get a 226 or 228 cam that will drive like stock but still have extra power..

If the base circle is the same, the smaller cam can still use the same parts you have installed on your current cam.

As Burken said^^^^
The TR224 cam/114 is a great cam as well.
I would guess that with all of the cam upgrades going on, that you can find a pretty good deal on a good used one.

I would love a tr224, would I be able to get near stock gas mileage and driveability? I just want the car to be able to roll in first gear without any bucking, having to give it gas, or clutch feathering.

Right now I'm on the stock 342 gears, if I got 390 gears would that eliminate my problems? The car just has no low end for everyday driving, it seems like its just hogging gas unless I'm at a decent rpm.

TR224 is a good cam. I'm actually replacing it with a custom ground EPS cam, but it has excellent street manners. Never had any driveability issues caused by the cam. Pulled really nicely too.

I've got 3.73 gears with the cam along with a 3600 converter and it's a really nice driver.

Sounds like you need a better tune, not a cam swap. I ran both a Torquer 2 and a custom 227/235 and neither had bucking or surging issues in the typical 1-2 gear/low rpms, and could ease off the clutch from a dead stop with no drama....stock 3.42s also.
