if you could afford it id get go ahead and spend the money on heads, thats where it will count the most, i saw somewhere on here a few years ago, a video of a TA making 1k rwhp on a 347, so i know they can put it down.

If it's FI, don't worry about spending the money on heads. For FI, 317's will be plenty.

I'm building one to feature my new MMS 220 heads to hopefully show case their capabilities.

The only reason I went forged is to stick a reasonably sized cam in it to test on the engine dyno (I may test a 220's cam and a mid 230's cam). I didn't want to be on the edge of a potential issue with P to V not having the valve reliefs in there.

I want the engine to be streetable.....not just looking to punch a big number. I'm also hoping for a wide flat torque curve and those who have followed my work over the years know I can coax alot out of an engine that's still a pleasure to drive.

Will have it on Westech's dyno in a couple of months at the most (or at least that's the goal!).

Its pretty basic honestly with the typical Mamo recipe components to aid in power and reliability ( I want a perfectly arced power curve that looks like a solid roller to 7200 or so)....OEM crank....Callies rods.....Wiseco flat tops with valve reliefs....Yella Terra M10 rockers....Manton pushrods and Johnson limited travel lifters. Will mill the heads for 11.5 CR....ported FAST 102 and a 102 TB.

Pretty much the same set-up a guy could install with his OEM un-forged block....the smaller cam not needing any flycutting....the larger cam for the guy getting more aggressive that's willing to flycut or go with an aftermarket forged piston.

I'm hoping to make 560-575 HP at the crank (which would be 1.65 ish HP per cube)....we shall see. And there is a good chance I will offer the finished engine for sale once I'm done with the testing....just depends on whether I come up with anything else viable to keep it for further R&D.

Will have video, pics, and a very thorough thread concerning the build once its complete. Will probably get the thread started before I hit the dyno as the engine is going together

Not sure who has numbers but mine won't see a dyno till spring. Really hope the motor does good. Have heard few guys getting 9-950 whp, been told long as it's just here and there woth race fuel it will last. Guess if blows and internals are still good might do an iron 347 and reuse stuff. Hoping for mid 9's settle for upper 9's.

I'm gonna follow this older thread as well in case there's any more updates. Weighing options for my car. Originally gonna do 408 but if I can use my current LS1 and build it up as 347 with stock crank and reach desired numbers then I'll do that for cost savings vs buying another engine or even just a crank for 383.

Peaks 15.5 psi at 6700, shift at 7000 (I have the aster bracket, was unable to control belt slip after 12 psi on stock procharger j-bracket). However this year I have pulleyed down to 3.4, I know my previous post states 3.4 pulley but its really 3.55 at the moment, i was mistaken. With the 3.4 Pulley I will be overspinning the D1 by about 4% at 7000. Also I have modified the procharger inlet to accept two filters instead of one. So that should free up some more psi as well. Hoping to break 17 psi this year. My big issue is my lower compression motor, I went with deep dished pistons to lower compression to stay "safe" but ended up with like 8.9-9:1 compression. I'd like to get back closer to 10 next year.

Side note, I see we have the same S60 rear and 3.54 gear. Have you had any trouble not reaching peak rpm in 4th in the 1/4? I've been wondering if i need to go 3.73 or higher to be at max rpm through the trap. Also, any suggestions for drag wheels and tire setup? We have very similar builds.
