Several Questions
I have just had a lot of work done to my SS and I have a few questions...
I bought a set of used 853's directly from the shop and after install I noticed a very small coolant leak. Turns out they think the head my be warped and have said they will remove it and remachine it. My question with this is if they are going to remachine it, couldnt I just pay the difference and have the heads milled to gain some more power? I am a complete noob when it comes to cylinder heads so I may be completely wrong.
Second question, I know this one doesn't have anything to do with internal engine, but I just got a 12 bolt from a member here and not only is it fairly loud on the inside of the car ( I knew this when I bought it) but the shop that installed it said the heim joints are bad? It pops pretty hard when turning right. What do I need to do to fix this?
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but these are two areas that I know nothing about.

Yes you could get a little bump in power from milling the heads if your not already running a bigger cam with a small piston to valve clearance....most would plain the warped, then take another .020" off.
As for the rear, depends on the hiem joints, dome are rebuildable, some just need replaced.
You have to pay attention to what you have and get when it comes to the hiem joints because there are different sizes, thread patterns and left or right hand threads.

You were right, I just got off the phone with them and they said they used the MLS gaskets and will have to go in and replace them with graphite.
