checking a cam?

Default checking a cam?

Quick question, is there any way to check a cam stamp (IE what the specs are on it) without pulling it out of the motor? I am not near my engine for the next few months and a friend will have to pull the cam out for me if we have to go that route to check it.... thanks in advance

I think most of them are stamped on the front or very back of the cam...either way you would atleast have to pull the timing cover, gear and chain....

Yuuup. Its usually on the front snout of the cam..
