did I mess up my shortblock??

Well........together she goes and into the engine bay shortly!!!!!! Hope it lasts a little while!!!

I was told by ARP the rods had to be re- sized
I checked the Katech bolts and they said just install them and torque to 50 ft lbs

Now I don't know what to do??? Just when I was ready to button up the bottom end and install the shortblock, I hear this.

You're fine. It is just like I said. Resizing/reconditioning the rods is the right thing thing do. You're going to be just fine doing what you did. It is the difference between correct and "will work".

Katech's advice is good enough for me. They build C5R engines for the LeMans Vettes and World Challenge CTS-V cars, I'd say they know their stuff.

Lingenfelter has also been in the LS1 upgrade business for years supporting the ASA series. New engines get cam, springs, and rod bolts. Do ya really think they resize the rods on these?
