Forged pistons with stock bottom end.

I have a 2001 LQ4 engine. I pulled the heads and it has some pretty severe carbon buildup on the pistons. I was thinking of just adding in some forged pistons, and probably doing a .030 overbore, and keeping the stock bottom end.

Which brand pistons should I get for best price/performance ratio??

I would get a set of Diamond pistons, and since you are tearing it apart I would just put some eagle rods in it w/some rod bolts just to be safe, has anyone pushed a stock LQ4 motor before?

Use Diamond Pistons, they have what you are looking for most likely on the shelf. Give us a call and we can get you some good pricing on them.

Ok, is it NECESSARY to go .030 over when replacing pistons?? Or can you just replace pistons with a light honing?? Does anyone offer pistons that are less than .030 over?
