Default Hank the Crank LS1 cranks....

I was reading some hot rod magazine where they talked about using an HTC LS6 crank....anyone have experience with these? They look nice.

HTC makes some really good parts. Pricey, but good. I ended up going with a Callies Racemaster for my build. Pretty good looking crank.

If you ever build with a Racemaster, just remember that the number 8 piston(I think it was at least) has to be clearanced to clear the reluctor. It was necessary for Diamond pistons at least.

Yes, I sell them and use them in just about everything I build. They're essentially a NASCAR crank as far as the material, build quality and finish. I could go on, but it tends to bring out the fanatics. Do a search on any forum you can find, you will not find anything bad about an HTC crank. With the recent issues in posts (here and elsewhere) about broken snouts, counterweights hitting pistons and such, well you get what you pay for.
BTW, I recently saw the remains of a twin-turbo LS6 that wasn't prepared correctly. The block had twisted about a 1/4". The only thing re-usable will be the HTC crank and the cam, after some cleanup and polishing.

The difference is basically the amount of machining that has been done to the crank. We planned on doing a lot to the crank, so I bought the Racemaster.

There are a lot of good cranks out there. HTC and Callies are just two of them.

Yup. I'm alive. Just got really busy.
