I cracked a liner in my block when #7 let go and it seems like ls1 blocks are becoming unicorns. I don't want iron, and I already bought a 3.905" bore rotating assembly, including a crank that's been polished and balanced.

So is there such a thing as a 5.3l truck motor that was aluminum?

Yep. You can bore them out to 3.905" too.

Yes its called an L33. I have no idea what the max bore on that block is tho.

Can't the '00 LS1 blocks be honed to 3.905 safely? I have one, 12559378 casting number with main caps I'm contemplating selling. And coincidentally enough it is currently honed to 3.905.
