Default Oil pressure relief spring help.

I have an LS1 that's going into a 72 Cutlass that I installed an SLP Camshaft meant for installing in LS1 in trucks so it should have more torque. I just installed an SLP Heavy Duty Oil Pump and a SLP Double Roller timing chain.I mainly plan on cruising around with it but maybe occasionally taking it to the track or an auto cross course.

My question is should I install the option oil pressure relief spring for higher oil pressure or should I keep the one thats close to GM spec in? It only increases the pump bypass pressure by 5 psi. Is it safer to put the new spring in and have higher pressure than to not have it when I need it? Will premature wear and failure occur if I had the higher spring in when I didn't need it? Any input is appreciated.
