Default Cam install

I put in my Comp 228/230 cam in my ls1 last week.. Cleaned engine real good before I did it, and also lubed cam real good but I sort of a hard time getting it to go in, I had to spin the cam a few times and use a good bit of force to get it in there, I even took it out again to make sure everything was clean and all and reinstalled it but im just wondering if this sounds bad to anybody thats put in a cam before.

Just need a steady hand,go slow sliding it in and spin it a few times.Shouldnt need much force.

As Redbull said, it shouldn't take any 'force'.
It should gently slide right in while spinning the cam.
Is it possible that your lifters were sitting low in their bores, obstructing the cam?
