Most are made by Trend (Comp, etc.) and Trend keeps them in stock. Other option is the Manton 11/32" pushrods for additional stiffness.

I read a thread about the mantons and i think im gonna use them. Peace of mind kinda thing.

So this also might be a dumb question but will the comp trunion upgrade affect my measurements i got for the push rods? I have the kit im just a bit hesetant about intalling them since my rockers are in good shape.

No, the centerline of the rocker will remain the same with the new trunnion kit.

Question

Hey guys not to thread hijack but I am in the process of measuring for pushrods and ptv also. So I can have a clear understanding I am suppose to have proper pushrod length before measuring ptv? Also how can I turn a roller lifter to a solid lifter for checking these things?

Post #2 paragraph #2 seemed to explain the making of a solid lifter.

No, if you have a solid lifter you need a pushrod that will provide the correct length for "zero lash". Best to use an adjustable and check spring however realize the adjustable pushrod will compress some and lessen valve motion if using the clay compression method.

So let me ask this:

I need to check PTV on my current set up that I have been running the last 2 years with no issue (2004 LS1/228R cam/7.400 PR/stock 241 heads, stock short block). I am ordering some AI High Compression 241's and Phil wants a current PTV measurement just to see if we have any room for milling and what not.

I ordered some checker springs and a pushrod length checking tool. I should recieve them in a couple days.

CAN I just swap in the checker springs and use my currently installed pushrods to measure PTV with a dial indicator? What I have researched is since the checker springs exert little force on the lifter it will not cause the lifter plunger to depress, which if it did compress would giving me a false reading.

I would rather do it this way before I make a damn mess removing everything.

Thanks guys
