I would NEVER replace a cam and put used timing set on it, makes NO sense to me, Also while you have it apart get the ported oil pump from TSP also for safety sake.

new timing chain is like 40 bucks. the tsp pump is kinda overkill when you can get melling or GMPP for less than 100 bucks

You could do an LS2 timing chain set. This is what a ton of people do when swapping cams. Or you could go with a double roller timing set.

The best price i can find for the Melling 10296 oil pump is $125 at Jegs? Someone else may know where to get one cheaper.

You want the high pressure pump (10295) not high volume. Sent you a PM with a link for under $100.

Also, you won't have any problem using the stock cam gear, just replace the chain. Providing visually it looks ok of course.
