Default Oil pressure higher than normal.....

OK ever since I owned this car the oil pressure at idle was 40-45-psi and 55-60 at cruise and 65-70 at WOT. Today while cruising at 2-3K rpm oil pressure was 75 psi, idle 60 psi and it would peg the needle during WOT.

After a hard WOT run while sitting at a light the pressure was 40 psi at idle and then went to 60 psi when I when I got upto cruising speed (45MPH).

I went into a store for about 15 minutes and when I started the car again the pressure was at 60psi idle and would act like it did earlier.

The needle doesn't jump around and climbs with more rpms.

What are the chances that the sending unit is on the way out??

Thanks.

Yeah Ron I still have it. I have to admit it sounds badass I guess I was just used to the 3.5" cutout. I'm glad I kept it. I can't wait to put one of Allan's cams in the motor along with a set of headers and cats.
Thanks,

Richie

Either the sending unit, or guage is going bad, or... you got some bearing problems.
