Default How good is the EPS 226/234

I have an 02 TA m6 that has bolt ons and a stock rear end. I'm going to put a cam in it and EPS recommended their 226/234 113. I mainly just drive it on the weekends and go to the track once or twice a year. I want more power everywhere and I'm not worried about peak numbers. Is this cam a good fit? Of the guys that have this cam, how do you like it and what kind of power/track numbers did you pick up?

This cam is considered about the best compromise all around. It is moderate on valve train, is strong till about 6600 RPM and does everything well. It works without flycutting pistons, it has only 4 degrees of overlap, so its not too difficult to tune it, and get it to idle nice. It does however sacrifice some top end power, just because of its moderate duration. My cam is the same duration, and LSA but was a custom cam, so I don't know if it is on the same lobes or not. I would expect that it would perform very similar, since the cam card specs are the same. I think you will be delighted with the choice. Those people that recommended that cam to you, are respected professionals and know more than about 95%(just pulled that stat out of my ***) of the people that are frequenting this board, like me.

Could you make more power with another choice?, sure you could, but it starts to cost you in drivability, difficulty tuning and torque under 4K, where we often are on the street. The cam your looking at should net you about 50 ponies, and your car being an M6, should be cake to tune. Are you doing the swap yourself?

I think it will work good for what your doing.Im about to put a EPS 226-230 112lsa cam in my 02 formula M6. I drive my car alot and got a deal on this cam new in the box.I couldent pass it up.Your cam will make a nice street cam. A guy i work with has a comp 227-235 113 on LSL lobes and it sounds great.Pulls up around 6600 or so and starts making good power down low and he loves it.I drove it around a little and its a very nice street cam.
