I found out the other day the hard way how crucial these are. thought my fuel pump died, but checked the relay first. Two weeks earlier, my starter and ignition relays went, so this time I thought the fuel pump relay was acting up. Good thing I didn't change the pump before checking!
Cost: $9 per relay at Oreilly's
Standard seems to be a good brand...

You shouldn't be burning relays like that. Have you checked the alt to see what voltage its putting out? The regulator might not be working right and putting out too high a voltage

What he said. I've got 1982-vintage relays powering my fans and fuel pump.
You've likely got something wrong, best do some searching in the other areas here (you're in Internal Engine, not quite relevant subject matter).

Now I'm not sure what is going on... I keep burning up relays... Apparently it's the fuel pump relay, and sometimes it's the ignition relay.
I crank the car and it turns but doesn't start. Then sometimes I put in a new relay and it starts fine. My starter is fine and I doubt it's the fuel pump because the car only has 50,000 miles.
Any ideas?
