So a year plus later since the first thread and absolutely nothing tangible has been produced but he's still good at getting snippy with those that dare disagree with him

No more mileage threads for this guy!!
Amen! lol
I looked at his stats too and couldnt help but LOL at some of his previous post. Pretty ridiculous statements in many!
I think these are more welcome in communities other than 'Tech.

Im in favor of the LOL

40 MPG that's going to be insane. If you got the MONEY and BRAINS for that you should build some crazy 40 gallon per mile ride and burn some peto instead.

I'm going to try Rhoads Roller lifters to see if I can pick up some bottom end TQ and mpg. Bleeding off 20-30 degrees duration and picking up 5hg of vacuum at low rpms might be enough to restore what the stock cam delivered without penalty (except cost of them plus adj roller rockers)... just put new Morel lifters in there too dang it

Maybe, but why not try. If I drove to only 160 miles per tank I'd be in jail and have no license.

My last tank was 275 miles with 1/4 tank left including several highway pulls on boost plus playing with some ricer in the twistys and wasting him. Got 26mpg (31mpg imperial) on tank before that. I'm not stock, about 550hp at motor (447rwhp and auto).

Heres a idea. Go fill your car up(preferably someone near a huge hill) and then turn the bi*ch off and let her roll. Only way youll ever achieve anywhere around 40mpg.
Also id love to see any concepts youd have and any job offering youd recieve for this.
Like mentioned, if this were obtainable then all the major car producing companies would be setting these or higher goals. Of course without a "budget", im sure alot of us could pull it off. But the keywords here are WITHOUT a "budget".

This thread is great...
If you can do it, go for it. But at the end of the day it's a V8 Sports car, 90% of people won't care about mpg's. NOW, is it nice to get 25+ on a highway with a V8, yeah, am I (and probably some other people) looking for it? No.
I respect your ambition though man. So best of luck with everything. But I'll keep having my fun without worrying about MPG's

So guy, it's been over a year since this thread got started. Last time we spoke you were on the verge of making this happen and getting a job somewhere big.

Where you at now with your magical 40+ mpg build?

Not even close, as it's physically and thermodynamically impossible to do what he was attempting.

Doing a V6 swap with 2.73 gears should net a MPG increase on flat highway roads. Get a 93-97 Camaro for areodynamics.

Why do people not realize the air we breather is 78% nitrogen, The only reason nitrogen is used in tires is because you can cram a ton into a cylinder and it's not flammable. The side benefits is that when it comes out of the cylinder it's dry and not contaminated and doesn't degrade rubber. Simply using a good air dryer with a regular compressor will accomplish nearly the same results. The other option is to just put more pressure in the tires if you choose to use pure nitrogen to make up the difference lol.

You can get 40mpg easy enough and keep the 450hp, Just lighten the load, Pump up the tires/ use synthetic fluids in the engine/trans/rear the problem is you can't use the hp at all without killing your mpg and you'll have to drive like a 100 year old woman all the time Shut the engine off at every light and coast to a stop everywhere....basically you have a vehicle capable of going fast but **** everyone off because you'll be driving really slow lol
