Default broke a piece of piston

Took the head off and found # 8 broken. My Q is will it be ok if I just swap out the pistons and leave the crank alone or should I just wait and get a forged piece and forged rods.also I had coolent mix with the oil will the crank bearings be ok or would I have to swap them.If so where do I get the same size bearings

I'd pull all of it and do a post-mortem. You just aren't going to know what all is damaged until you do. You may have cylinder wall problems or as you stated you may have bearing issues as well.

What caused the broken piston? Did you drop a valve or did you detonate. If you detonated bad enough to break a piston, you may have other issues as well. Just depends on how things happened.

I didn't hear detonation(loud exhaust) but I think thats what happened I did it while on spray so it probably leaned out

Yup. Take the whole thing apart and do a post-mortem. You may have larger issues.

Not the same car or engine but my buddy had coolant in his oil before he realized he had a blown head gasket. He swapped the head gaskets and threw a rod through the block a month later. It is always better to do things right the first time.

I feel for you, mine was number 7. Take it apart, it'll save you in the long run. Good luck.
