LOL wow.
So I been trying to figure out how I can run the VIN on the receipt for free without me having to pay for it.
Found out I can list it on ebay as an vehicle for sale and they give you free history report for buyers sake.
Last reading on the report.
08/13/2008 CA
197,924 Miles
Motor Vehicle Dept. TITLE (Leased Vehicle) SALVAGE
Then
03/08/2010 CA
Motor Vehicle Dept.
JUNK VEHICLE - end of the line.
If this is indeed the motor.
On the receipt it says 2002 Yukon, but the VIN# reads 2001 GMC Sierra 2500

I think I would be pushing for exchange and full refund. It is going to cost a lot to patch up what they gave you. I would look further away on car-part and look into shipping, it might not be as bad as you think and you might just find a yard to deal with that is not complete scumbags.
After you talk to them I think you should post their name to help others avoid the same problems.

Here's what I would do
Gather the names, dates, times, conversations, receipts, a record of every conversation you've ever had with this company. Contact the BBB and file a dispute. Contact the company and speak to someone as high up on their food chain as possible. Kindly ask that they refund your money back in full and pickup their garbage engine at your residence. If they seem hesitant, kindly mention to them that you have a lawyer in your family that would be more than happy to ensure they comply with your requests. Be reasonable with them and let them know you're looking to get your money back and move on.

I actually spoke with someone on another forum that dose business with these people and says his shop has built a strong relationship with them. But he also stated this particular dismantler needs his business cause they buy a lot from this guy. None of which really hold any water for me, I could care less with HIS personal experiences.
The whole time there, from when I went in to inquire about a motor from the time I bought it. etc I only dealt with the owner. No one else, drove by there this past Saturday and he wasn't there so I left and waited until today to catch up with him + time for me to calm down haha. I recorded every conversation I had with him.
He seemed surprised about the situation when I explained it to him and showed him the pictures. He immediately went to the computer to look up and see if he has another motor to fix this situation. Went in the back and showed me another 6.0, told him to pull the pan. He lifts it up and pulls the pan and this motor looks great inside, looks like something I was expecting the first time.
Had some tag from GM on the driver side of the block above the oil filter. Supposedly a new block from GM someone had put in there car, then wrecked it and now they have it...
It didn't have a lasered etch number on the block though behind the driver side head on this motor.
EDIT- Also I went to dealership to try and get some info on the block that I have now based on the number I pulled off the block. Spoke with the parts department area and he couldn't get any info on either numbers. Weird, I thought they would be able to pull up anything I needed to know.

Their tag attached to the motor said
2003 Hummer H2 6.0L
Then the metal tag that was glued to the block right above the oil filter.
Reads
Part# 12491357
Date: 2007-07
Serial# 40005277
Pulled the pan.
Haven't pulled the heads yet. Not sure if I will, its suggested to only use the head bolts once correct? TTY bolts? Then again no telling how many times the heads were pulled before me. might be best to buy new bolts.

That motor looks pretty clean (mine wasn't that clean but checked out fine nonetheless), how much does he want for it? Yes, head bolts are one-time use then you toss them (I use a few old ones as thread chasers).

Good luck with the build! My 125k mile LQ9 looked like the replacement that you just posted. I'd be surprised if the first one held up long at all if you hadn't cracked it open to inspect.

That second engine looks like more what you should have had in the first place. Looks like they didn't think you would notice the first time around. Atleast he stood behind it and exchanged blocks with you though. Got to give the owner on the props for that!
