Sounds like you are going to have with the new engine in your car. The thing should run real hard. Your complaining about 8 inches of snow? I've got about two and a half feet on the front yard, and the temps are supposed to be about 38 degree Celcius below zero. It's cold here. Enjoy your car, it is going to be a fun ride

hehe nice numbers
I would fly to Texas and head to HRP before going back to Chicago

Welcome to the club. Expect to put a lot miles on it quickly. It's just too much fun even at part throttle!

Roadster I'm relocating to Woodale-Addison area for work, I'd like to check your ride out sometime, I'll be picking up my new 02 SS Tuesday and then the project begins! woohoo

congrats on your setup. I rode in Quickin's car which makes 500 hp at 5000 rpm and that thing is a beast. Trust me you will love your car.

Yeah, i picked up my baby yesterday around 3PM and met my car transporter in a large commercial parking lot around 5 minutes from my home in the Chicago Suburbs.

As soon as i started it up i noticed a new much deeper tone and was happy to see with my large cam through my A4 she was idling great in very cold 20 degree Chicago air. Very pleased with the sound of the car as it sounds REALLY MEAN but its not too loud going catless through MTI's custom 3 inch exhaust and into B&B Rt 66 muffler. I only drove it about 2 miles b/c of somewhat icy wintery conditions on the roadways here in Chicago but can tell its going to be a REAL SCREAMER. The noise and decibal level in the cockbit of my roadster is considerably louder than my old heads and cam set up, but the car on the outside is not any louder than my H/C motor, with cats going thru PRT mufflers. Thats what i wanted b/c the cops around my home our like the gestapo and i don't want to be getting pulled over when i'm behaving and driving the posted speed limit. Supposed to hit 55 here in chicago this weekend and will be out putting on some serious miles to start breaking in the motor a bit.

The engine also looks awesome with my custom MTI 427 ci custom fuel rail covers and the finishing touch on the front fenders, MTI's signature Z07 emblem (just like the Z06 badge but instead Z07 b/c of 7 liter motor) really looks awesome, as the Z07 appears in black and silver and perfectly matches all the black and pewter colors of my car. A great finishing visual touch that looks REALLY COOL and of course is VERY UNIQUE, as no one around Chicago that i have ever seen has Z07 badges on their C5!

The drivability at normal driving speeds felt really good except when coasting the rpms did not want to come off 1500 rpm and the cockpit noise at that level is VERY LOUD! The car idles between 900 and 1000 and so far so good with this large hyd. cam on a 112 lsa in my A4. Through my large BE COOL radiator and very large new tranny cooler the temps in the cold weather stayed right around 180 to 185. Crept up to 190 in traffic and i hope the large tranny cooler doesn't run up my coolant temps too much when the weather breaks!

Now to the interior. SPEEDWERKS in DALLAS did a KICK AZZ Job on my custom 6pt gloss black Vert C5 rollbar and 5 pts racing harness WHICH LOOKS AWESOME. All the sidebars bolt out and unfortunately the side bars do not swing out and so getting out is a chore and i feel like DALE JARRET climbing out of his RACECAR! Anyways, the BAR is a first class piece and REALLY ROCKS! Of course when i get tired climbing out of the car i will just simply remove the bolt in sidebars when i'm just ripping around town.

Should be a great weekend and upcoming VETTE SEASON!

Thanks Guys,

Colonel,

Running my TPIS Headers and ported cartek zo6 intake and MTIs stage III LS6 heads with the S1 cam on a 112 lsa. Jayson, did a great job with my idle. Can't wait to put a few miles on, have the weather break, put on my et streets and skinnines and put the pedal to the medal!

Some day when i recover from this financially maybe will explore upgrading to new manifold when a real superstroker manifold gets released and is proven. Out of curoisity, what are the best headers available for my motor? NOt like i will take any action b/f warranty period.

Thanks

MTI 427 C5 Roadster

Don't worry when you have your helmet on the exhaust will sound very tame. I did 80 mins of road racing with both my windows open, and my exhaust was very mellow! Probably would have become deaf if I took the helmet off! BTW I has hitting 135 mph in 3rd! (A4)

Enjoy!

The best headers for your cubes are the 1 7/8" Grott LT's, no question. I was told that by everyone from ARE, MMS, Norris, LPE, etc... I was also told that they would be good for about 10-15 HP over the 1 1/4" headers. The real original exact headers are still being made by the same company who's been making them for 20 years. Call Thunder Racing and get you some. They're works of art. QTP has them also, they just call them QTP headers, they're GROT'S though.

Good luck
