ok head ??? here
I will be doin a lot of grudge/money racing with my car and im trying to figure out the best route to go with my heads. I have 853s right now i seen some on here forsale flowing great numbers...so i guess my question is would it be worthwhile to have my 853s fully ported or go with another budget stock casting head what would you guys suggest? My car will be full bolton ls1 stock cubes on spray.

Their not the best flowin head, but anything can flow well just depends on how much you want to spend. If you send them anywhere to have cnc'ed your lookin at $750-1000 to have that done. Personally I'd pick up a used set like prc ls6 heads, they will flow better and their just a better casting.

853's have it. If you aren't going with a forced induction anytime soon the graphite gaskets are fine. I have ran 11.0:1 compression at 500rwhp running 10.90's full weight car and never had an issue. Cylinder Head Specialties ported 853 castings.

I would recommend taking a look at our PRC stg 1.0 LS6 heads if you are looking for something on a budget. They start at $1125 with a stock valve spring and flow right around 312-313 cfm at .600" lift.
